Larne Choir110 December 2013 Annual Christmas Music Concert in All Saint’s, Linn Road, Larne

Larne Concert Choir was formed in 1998 and was founded from the coming together of two of the borough’s best loved choirs, Larne Male Voice Choir and The Glenlough Ladies Choir.  It’s membership is drawn from all across East Antrim and further a field.

The choir has been fortunate to tour in Scotland, England and across Ireland as well as in mainland Europe performing in major choral events in many different venues. The repertoire of the choir is broad based with music drawn from many different styles and periods, from the renaissance right through to arrangements of popular songs.  In Northern Ireland, the choir has sung in many of the provinces best venues (both large and small) with successful concerts in The Ulster Hall, Belfast Cathedral, Parliament Building and Hillsborough Castle to its credit.

In addition to it repertoire of part-songs the choir occasionally performs longer works; most recently they gave a performance of John Stainer’s“The Crucifixion”  in Glenarm, they have sung John Rutter’s “Sprig of Thyme” under Professor George McPhee in PerthTown Hall and our choristers have performed “Messiah” under the baton of Sir David Willcocks at the Royal Albert Hall.

We meet each Tuesday evening 8-10pm with a cuppa at half-time; so if you can sing, and would like to become a member do come along.
